That is why I am asking questions in this forum. I am unsure and figured I would ask my fellow members who are very well educated on jeeps.
Would 33s be a bad option as well on a 4cyl?
Thanks -
you didnt lift yours??
did it rub? -
My 81 cj7 is a 4cylinder and not sure if that makes much of a difference or not?

i basically want to lift my jeep to fit 33 inch or 36 inch X 12.5 without rubbing...
i really just want to purchase the tires and the lift kit and im not sure how much lift i will need and wanna know if that is possible without having to make any other major adjustments.any advice and information would be appreciated

I havent done anything to it yet. still trying to decide. if i go with a shorter lift would i still have to lengthen the drive shafts?
-
also what is the best tire size to get with a 3"lift...that wont rub
-
I see they have a 3" lift kit. Besides the tires is there anything else i would have to change to make this work?

I am thinking about lifting my 1981 cj7. I have no idea how to do this myself. I am not handy with tools at all....any recommendations on a 2 inch lift or more? Any recommendation on a mechanic in north wilmington that does this type of work ?

Thanks for the tip. The tie rod ends seem fine. Doing the alignment really helped! It does wander a lot which I saw Cj7 are known for. Any tips to help fix that problem?
What is DW?
Thanks again!

I have a 1981 cj7. A few weeks ago I had a problem with the car veering left and right for no reason. Almost uncontrolled. I had someone look at it and said it needed a new steering box? I just got it back and while the problem is not bad it still has a problem?? And now the steering wheel is not lined up properly with the tires. Alignment?
