If your the type of person to get bored runing on some dirt road with stock jeeps, then you shouldn't be with them.

so if there are not enough people in this club to go on a hardcore ride, and i just want to hit the tailnow i cant go on the trail with stock jeeps. trust me you wont be pulling my :soapbox: around all day!

    this club is getting pathetic!

maybe it was the previous guy from before he branched away from precision? i just know that many guys from the base have their windows tinted and i'm heard more complaints than praise as of late from the precision shop behind DD. i stand behind duane in his new shop in dover.

i just know that the few that i have seen him do( and not many) looked good to me. He it the trainer that solar guard ( the tint maker)sent to us to train my guys. his name was joules.

i just know that at my shop, it is very difficult to tint windows, i have seen what they go through, and it is not fun.

I had to borrow someone else's body for the day. It's a long story, but I really wanted to go, so I kidnapped this short bald guy who weighed roughly the same amount as me and transferred my essence into his. I thought I got away with it most of the day, but those dogs are really smart they can smell an alien from 2 trails away. After Pitfall I had to high tail back to the space ship before the local sheriff and pitch forks showed up.

Wow, coffee is good this morning

i think there might have been a better choice for words here :suspicious:

    There standard arent they?

anytime i ever did the lines on my jeep I just went to pep boys and picked up some line of different lenghts and bent them up. they have lines that are pre flared with the fittings on them.

the one garmin is supposed to be getting us is the 60c

depending on the software you have you can do on road, off road, turn by turn etc. it does not have a speaker, so the turn by turn is prompted by a beep.

the 60cs adds an altimiter and compass

    we will see what happens

we split the rubber hose down the center. The only part of the blue hose that is exposed is about 2 inches at each end. This way the line is still the weakest link and their is no chance of ripping the fittings out of you axle ( more expensive to repair or not repairable at all). the rubber hose protects them from heat and scrapes and other stuff.

Note: This discussion was split off of the original Camp Jeep discussion in the Trail Rides and Gatherings forum...

What is it with the ARBs on the Rubis? Even on the trail I was assigned to, we had a dozen Rubis, and most had issues with one locker too. One driver didn't know how to use a single switch to activate two lockers.

Lets not get confused here, rubi's do not use ARB's, they are just similar in that they are air actuated. But it seems to be a heat issue with a sensor or something where they will not engage. In my opinion they should have 2 switches. But at least now the engineer's know exactly what the limitations of their "most capable 4x4 vehicle" are.

as for the whole event, I would do it again, and hope this gets us an "in" to guide a jamboree. we all worked hard and had a good time. Cant wait for my new toy to arive from garmin.

i ran the trxus and loved them. quiet on road, great in the rain and snow and great off road. I have since switched to mtrs because I went bigger(37). Jwalk runs the trxus in 35's and I think he likes them too.

i have both on my 98 cherokee clasic, I have noticed that the electrical fan turns on and off every few seconds. is this normal? I have been meaning to ask and just dont ever remember to post it, figured since the fans were the conversation I would just ask here.

your electric fan on your cherokee is becasuse you have AC. turning on and off is normal.

my electric fan was 60$ on ebay and I have it set to run on low all the time and on high with a switch. but new it would have been considerably more.

when i have the money i will be putting the same one in my grand cherokee, because aside from the extra little bit of power, the roar of the fan clutch is very annoying to me, and that alone makes it well worth it.

Jeep did do this, in a 98 grand cherokee 5.9 limited. That is one of the ways they got more power versus the 5.2. There is no mechanical fan creating parasitic drag on the motor.

An electric fan that flows enough air to beat the mechanical one is going to draw alot of amps. Thats a heavy load on a standard battery. I am running a ford taurus electric fan in my yj. It is the size of the radiator and you can watch the volt meater move when I put it on high.

yeah thanks for clearing that up. I posted it because the 205's that were in the yj's had a true n in the t case.

the owners manual for the cherokee (yes I still have that, from 87) says that tcase in N and tranny in P. I have just heard too many horror stories, so i think i am going to pull the rear driveshaft.
