Well not sure if anyone gives a crap but ended up going to the dealer. Was willing to pay for the quicker turnaround. Turns out the Trac-loc limited slips have clutch packs that wear. The wearing opens up the clearances on the spider gears which caused the chipping and eventual catastrophic failure. I went back in with the Detroit Tru-Trac limited slip which is 100%;gear driven and no clutch packs. Just a heads up if you splurged for $290 Trac-loc upgrade change your diff fluid on schedule and look for metal.

Discovered chipped teeth on upper and lower spider gears when replacing diff cover. The side gears appear to be ok. I was not hearing any strange noises prior to this. Is it possible to replace the just the spider gears rather than the whole differential? Can anyone recommend a shop in Wilmington area to repair? I know there are a couple guys in the forum that do gear swaps but I think I'll need someone to inspect, order parts and make the repair. Is this ok to drive in the short term? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I had hood flutter on windy days. $25 Daystar replacement hood latches took care of that.

I agree. No need for primo gear to catch fish on the surf. Its all about luck, good observation and time spent on the beach in my opinion. Mojo is a good rod. I run one one a conventional set up. I also use an old Mitchell surf reel with manual bail pick up. Never had a problem with it.

Yep, good point. I keep forgetting my 2010 is no longer new.

If you plan on going bigger with tires save the $500 and put it towards a regear. I ran 33s and 3.73s and regeared to 4.88s with 35s. What a difference. Worth every penny.

Yes, they are still for sale. Sent you an email too.

Spare has 0 miles. Other 4 have 12,000. One tire has one plug. No issues with balancing or leaking air. Would need to check on tread depth measurement.

Was all the way down just north of the inlet last Saturday. First cast got me a double croaker within a couple minutes. Then nothing for the next 6 hours. Gotta be in the right place at the right time.

That particular one is a Lang 84" (from Georgia) and my uncle actually owns it. I assist whenever possible.
