Anyone know of a good place to take a 2000 jeep xj to get front upper and lower ball joints installed?
I already have the parts. Just don't have the tools etc...

Or, an expected price I'd be paying for labor/length of time to do the job?

    Thanks.

Ok so my AC compressor is grinding really bad.
I have a new one but do not have the knowledge or equipment needed to swap it out.
Is there anything I can temporarily do to possibly lessen the noise until I figure out how to get it fixed?
I don't even have AC as an option.
Called pep boys out of desperation and they quoted me at $450.
    2000 xj sport 6cyl.

Looking for a mechanic that can do some work on a 2000 xj.
Some of the things I need are:
    New front rotors/pads installed
    New rear drums installed
    Front shocks installed
    Fuel tank strap installed
    Spark/fuel test on injector 1
    Coolent system check/flush
    Basic tune up

If anyone is interested in working something out please email me at davemele78@gmail.com

I would get the parts and then we can figure out payment for the work.
    Newark area.

    Thanks guys. Great info.
If any mechanic out there wants to give it a glance over that would rule.
I have a friend but he's not getting back to me.
I definitely need a new rear brake upgrade and sway bar bushings in the front.
    Possibly shocks?
I'm not 100% sure on that.
Some knowledgeable person would be great.

Also, if anyone here does work on the side in Newark area, let me know.
I'm not loaded, but I can do my best, or trade for artwork or tattoo work.
I have stuff at davemele.etsy.com and can do commission work.
And I work at poppycock tattoo. Check the website for my work.
Feel free to get in touch. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Was going to rent a car, but none have hitches (bringing a Coleman crawdad)
    And it's too expensive anyway.

About to travel to the hills of West Virginia.
Any thoughts on what I should do to the jeep beforehand?
    About 169k on it.
Hoping to get new shocks, back brakes and stabilizer bushings.

I have these two leaks on the left side of the driver and passenger foot area's.
Seems like it might be coming thru the windsheild wipers...? thats the only thing i can think of since they are both mounted on the left side there....
The worst part is, the driver side leak goes all over my diagnostic box hookup and i can hear some crackling.
    A quick easy fix?

I had a friend of mine do a compression test and the first cylinder was just barely out of spec.
The remaining 5 were totally fine.
Then he put some oil in where the spark plug screws in and the compression got better,
So he said basically the rings around the cylinder that are supposed to "scoop" the oil up with it are prob bad.

Got a can of BG44K and added to a full tank. Let it get to a half and filled up again, at a half now. Also had the CEL cleared with a computer. But....came back on. Currently waiting on thermal tape to be sent to me.
My fuel rail looks pretty old and beat up tho. Not sure if replacing that would be necessary yet or not.

Yea that's pretty much exactly what happens. If the CEL wasn't lit I wouldn't even be able to tell anything is wrong. It kinda putters when in park. But not even that much.
I'm just worried that if I keep driving like this it's gonna get worse.
