Thanks to Artie for the hookup of NOS CJ Turn Signals, there installed and operational. Just waiting for the first weekend in Dec. for my custom, Zach built Flat Fenders!

I like the old school look!

What year is the 6cyl? The only thing that I would question is a transfer case drop. Starting in 2003, the transfer case skids changed. Springs, control arms and trac bars should all swap fine. It's not hard, just time consuming.

Paul, Andrew and I went up to watch Aaron compete today at NEUROC. We meet up with Chris, Mike and his friend Elff, and John Brereton and his kids.

It was a pretty eventful day, saw about 3-4 rollovers (not Aaron). Aaron was doing well until about his third course. A steep rock face hill climb. He almost made up to the top, but then did a two foot wheel stand and proceeded to roll back down the course. He ended up coming down on a rock that pushed up his oil pan up into his crank, which then tore a 2 inch gash in his pan.

Some quick work by the DEJA pit crew, with a soda can, JB Weld and Duck tape he was ready to get back into the competition.

He finshed up the final course with a low score, and I believe aleast 2nd place going into day 2.

Pictures and one video to follow....

Rubicon Express sells individual control arm brackets that are almost twice a thick as the flimsy stock ones. I highly recommend them.

I have the skids in a box somewhere waiting to get welded on as well.

The CV stands for Constant Velocity. Your Rubicon already has a fixed
yoke output on the transfer case, so the slip joint is located in your rear
    DS (Driveshaft.)

Your rear driveshaft as it is now, has single u-joints on each end of your driveshaft. That set-up works well as long as your transfer case output and your rear driveshaft pinon are parallel. That's how it is stock. Once you start lifting your Jeep, the pinion rotates up and now it's now longer parallel. This is where a CV Jointed DS and rear control arms can dial in
your angles. With a CV DS, you know want the rear pinion pointed up almost directly (about 1* below) your transfer case.

    Hope that helps some.

It was another good day of wheeling with DEJA. Andrew and I started off with two groups. I lead the stockers and Andrew took the mods.

For the stockers we started off down Coal road, heading towards Valley Road. From Valley Road we got off onto Blueberry. Once through Blueberry, we ventured onto Haul Road. That lead us down to Inner and
Outer Spare Tire. We took a look down Inner Spare Tire and looked at the stream crossing. The water was pretty high, along with the big drop off's into the water. We all parked and I took my Jeep across the stream and looped back across again. Only one other Jeep would brave the water. He was on 33's. It is a Blue 1 trail. After that we headed over to Outer Spare Tire, that's were I ran into a little mud. See Pic..... Needless to say I told everyone to stay to the right! Once that little adventure was done, we headed over to the Spring for lunch. Andrew and the Mod's meet up with us for lunch.

After lunch we agreed to switch groups and I lead the Mod's (Not sure if they were happy with that!@?!) We went back up Turtle and the whole trial up, my front end was making some bad noises (what's new there?). Turns out it was my Pass. side u-joint. So we all pulled off the trail and Brian and his friend helped me swap out to my spare Pass. side axle. 15 miniutes or so we were back on the trail. We then went to Whompum. Turns out to be a pretty good, rocky trail. Almost everyone made it through the lower section, except for Paul's XJ. Turns out he busted his rear lift blocks and U-Bolts. We managed to limp him up off the trial and through the By-pass.
We then decided we should head out towards the Registration area.

My only other incident was my OBA. Once back at the Reg. area, I was filling everyone's tires. The compressor was running at 2K RPM's for about 20 minutes, and apperently melted my Oil Removing Filter's bowl. Oil shot everwhere and I had to shut it down. Should be no big deal, just replace the bowl.

Hope everyone had a good time. Here's a link to the few pictures I was able to take....http://www.imagestation.com/al…551&congratulation_page=Y

Yea, meet at the Wawa up north (Faulk Road) around 6-6:15am.
I could be a last minute drop out for family reasons. So Andrew or Chris
might have to take up the lead. If I can't make it I'll give Andrew
    a call on his cell.

    Hopefully I'll see everyone there.

    Thanks,

    Joe

If your interested in joining us for the run, please let me know either
here in this post or by signing up on the Calender.

    Thanks,

If you have 4.10 gears stock, you would be going backwards in getting 3.73's. The numbers get higher but the gear ratio's are actually lower.

If you having "power" concerns, then you want higher numerically gears, ie 4.56 or above. Although, I wouldn't think that you would even want to run 4.56 with only 31" tires.

My stock ratio's were 3.73 with my stock 30" tires. I have since regeared
to 4.56 with my 35" tires. My RPM's are pretty close to stock on the highway - around 2100-2200 at 60-65mph. Offroad, I'd like even lower gears (4.88's) but that would make my highway RPM's even higher.

Clear as mud? For you, cost wise and RPM wise I'd stick with your stock gears if they are 4.10's. Even if they were 3.73's, the cost probably wouldn't justify the jump only to 4.10's.

Edit: Andrew beat me to it!!!
