I have a clunking coming from my transfer case. Should I rebuild/fix the stock NP231 or replace with a different transfer case? And if so which one? Also it will be behind a 5.9L and an NV3550. Thanks

if you put a new one in go with a d300 you will have to have front and rear driveshafts made for it but the 300 is a bullet proof

Jeep np208
Bigger stronger and has a fixed yoke in the rear

from what i remember the np208 is a 2-piece case chain driven t-case...which would be waeker than the solid case gear driven D300....the D300 is like the atlas t-cases only a lot cheaper. it is also fixed yoke in the rear.

The 300 will need to be flipped for him to use it.
The 208 does not have a 4 to 1 kit made for it. -
