security light on ???

so i bought another jeep, 93 zj v8,dirt cheap, but the security light is lit on the dash, turns over fine, almost starts but dies out??? everything else works fine, what is this security light...

Its the factory alarm. Try locking and then unlocking the drivers door with the key. If that doesn't work, try the pass door and the liftgate. Thats where the switches are, attached to the lock cylinders.
