the linkage on my xj was not attached to the shifting tab on the t-case.
i tried putting it back together via pressing the bushing thru the hole in the t-case tab.
no luck.
am i missing something? how does it go together?
i tried everything. i tried yelling at it, spitting on it and punching it. nothing worked.

You've gotta put the bushing in the shifter prior to inserting the rod...a little lube doesn't hurt, either.

couldnt get the bushing off the rod.
i will try to heat it a little and see if that helps.
