Adjusting the 4wd lever on a Jeep TJ

Does anyone know what the trick is to get this correct??.Ever since I put this transfer case (NP231) in I couldnt get the lever right.It will not go into 4wd low but it seems that it wants to if I pull hard on it all the way back.The lever does not go all the way down (2WD)like it did before I changed the transfer case out.

Its only a 1 inch and the drop bracket was installed..The old transfer case had no problems with the 4wd shifter but after i installed this different transfer case (last year)the 4wd shifter is just up higher..plus im hearing a clangy noise when starting from a stop..this seemed to just started after i went over a pothole in the road..it must have knocked the linkage loose.
I found this searching..i guess i will go by page 6..seems pretty clear.
