On my 03 Rubi I have stock gears and 33s.
Its okay . Still have power thru all the gears . I do have to down shift a lot if on the highway .
Average about 13mpg with them. 2200rpm at around 65mph.
If i ever decide to step up to 35s id prob go 4.88

Bump. Week away.
can a trans cooler be mount someplace else besides in front of the radiator..
Yes. Get a heat sink trans cooler or a stand alone unit that is self contained with its own fan assembly.
Jegs and Summit racing sell them.
Its across from the Midway Shopping Center, next to the Pickled Pig.
Andrew's not a Starbuck's fan so I can understand his confusion
Thats the one. No confusion. Its Midway. Just not Midway shopping center.
Correct tho... not a big fan of them. ;D
So as not to confuse the other thread. Ill start one. First one set for March 14 at 10am at Starbucks in Midway on Rt1. Just up the street from McDonald's.
It is posted on FB as well.
Ill be there with both Jeeps and my version of "coffee"
If the weather is decent may hit the surf after that.
Just posts it on Deja FB page.
Yup, but if it gets too confusing. Maybe we should?
lol.
Ok. Maybe a J&J thread for each county?
Someone head up the NC one.
Jodie head up the Kent one and I can head up the Sussex one.
Id like to do Surf Bagel but the parking there and Ace isn't big enough to accomadate us if the weather is nice.
For Sussex lets do March 14. Say 10am.
I mounted mine in the scrap / recycle can as a bottle jack is safer IMO.
Bump.
Any interest in a Sussex Jeeps and Java?
Im thinking March. Starbucks on Rt1 in midway.
Mine were bare steel . Painted them semi gloss black. Easier to touch up IMO.
On the JKU I got the oil changed, tires rotated, most of the under carriage painted, all the fluids checked and washed it.
Want to change the spark plugs and gear oil at 50k miles . It has 46k on it now .
Starting getting the TJ ready for the beach season. Painting a few tings. Need to get the hood painted soon.
Got my surf stickers for both Jeeps today.
I have/had a large metal collapsible one that I loaned to someone in the club. It has since been passed around. Not sure where it is now.
lol... might as well re-title this thread to age and mileage.
Ill post mine when I get a new pic.
is that a cost for each time you transfer, or does that allow it to be used on either vehicle for the year. I thought that was for a scenario of transferring from a vehicle you sold to one you just bought. I would like to go back and forth between vehicles several times.
IIRC, the fee is each way. and only for vehicles you own.
I just took it.
I suggested a transferable permit for vehicles registered to the same person. I have a suburban in addition to the jeep and like to take that down, but I don't want to buy two permits. The short duration permit would also be nice.
They allow that currently. I believe the cost is $15
Dawn is registered.
Are we all meeting at the Purple Parrot again?
There is no pump seal on a manual.
Factory parts listing shows a seal ..
FWIW...He has a 02 X model.
Only going by the parts listing as I have never had to replace the seal on my 03 5spd, just the clutch, a few times.
Manual. Is that an expensive job for a garage.
Depends on how you classify expensive.
Prob take 6-8 hours to remove everything, fix the seal if thats the case, and re-install everything.
Going shop rate is about $95/hr give or take.
A good shop can prog have the job done in 6 hours IMO.
