I may be interested in hitting the trails with you guys. I'll probably head up Friday night and stay overnight. What trail difficulty are you planning?

I can't believe the price of new Jeeps, but they don't appear to be having any difficulty selling them. I feel like I see more Jeeps than ever on the road.

Need some more info. Do you run a temp gauge? and if so, does your trans run hot all the time, or just when you put stress on it. I run a seperate stacked plate cooler from derale on a dedicated trail rig, with its own electric fan. Some guys say that you shouldnt run a trans cold all the time either, but I dont put enough miles on mine to make a difference.

This is for the street Jeep, so I am looking for a nice smooth ride. I did a quick Google search and it looks like the soa would involve new drive shafts and steering mods, not sure I want to go that far yet. I may just do a small shackle lift to make myself feel good until I'm ready to rip into a bigger project. Im in the middle of a cam swap and 4:1 kit on the crawler....trying to get it done so I can get back out on the trails soon.

Ok, I must have 2.5 in springs on there now. Thanks for the info, I'll change my original post to 4in springs.

I know its kind of a long shot, but I figured I would ask before I buy new. I currently have CJ springs on it, but would be willing to make the simple conversion if someone has YJ springs.

I finally made it through last week. I used the weather stipping that you put on the bottom of a garage door. It worked perfect. I appreciate the offer.

I attempted to braze an aluminum fan shroud, since my mig welder does not have the option to add a spool gun. It did not work out well for me. I ended up riveting the shroud together. I found the melting point of the aluminum angle to be too close the the brazing rod that I was using.

Im looking. 5x5.5 is not a very common bolt pattern anymore. I am going to hit Home Depot today to see if I can find something that I can use as a fender flare extension. I am hoping i can find something smaller, due to the fact that I am using stock CJ flares.
