the instructions still say that and to mount the res over the pump, but their own bracket that mounts it to the brake booster breakes all of their rules ::) . Thats been my delima with mine; Trying to follow their less than stellar instructions and adhear to thier rules. I have finally decided to use thier damn bracket.

I get all my CB items from the truck stop on Elkton Rd, in Elkton. They have various length's of cable, different radios, external speakers and antennas.

the hardest part is the inner axle seals. You must put a second seal on the long side near where the actuator was ( i cant remember what side of the actuator). You can also upgrade to alloy shafts instead of running stock ones, but thats up to you.

Among other things...the tubes on my rocker guards look like a dog chewed them! Though I'll just hit those with the flap wheel to smooth 'em out a bit and then give them the 'Krylon Touch' (tm)

--Ian (Mebbe I'll just swipe an unused set from someone's house OTOH... :suspicious:)

i have trained the dogs to attack if anyone touches the red nekid' ladies

If you pay me $70.00 I will drive around with you for 2 hours and blow a whistle everytime you accelerate......You will see the same horsepower gains as the TB spacer... only my whistling will stop after 2 hrs.... not until you remove the useless $70.00 piece of aluminum

Intakes and all that add on crap are absolutely worthless on a jeep.... I am still offering $100.00 to someone who can actually show me with dyno sheets of the same vehicle before and after the intake mods that show actual gains in useful RPM range on a jeep....

    ok for clarrification:

yes you have a vacuum disconnect in your front axle. What that means is that the passenger side axle has 2 shafts inside. when you shift your transfer case into 4wd a shift fork (actuated by the vacuum motor) slides a color connecting the 2 shafts together making 1.

    To eliminate this:

you could buy a posi lock. This makes the shift fork cable actuated with a lever inside the truck. this still leave you with a 2 piece axle on the passanger side and a relatively small u-joint.

    your other option is:

to buy a block off kit from Randys Ring and Pinion and TJ front shafts. Using TJ front shafts gives you a 1 piece passenger side shaft. This also gives you a bigger u-joint than came in your YJ. This also allows you to upgrade down the road to TJ alloy shafts. This is the better method.

the posi-lock is $200, you could probalby install this yourself if you know the difference between a wrench and a screwdriver.

the block off kit is probably around 50$, plus what the TJ shafts cost. You could get a used set for less than 100$. However this is something you probably could not do with the help of someone who knows there way around a front axle, or you will have to pay someone. This is because it comes with a new inner seal that did not exist in the axle before and they are a pain to get in. If you go this route, and I do recommend it (remember better 1 piece shafts, and bigger u-joints), I recommend Hollyoak4x4, as Brian has done alot of work for people on this board and knows his stuff. He is mopartech here or http://www.hollyoak4x4.com

I hope that cleared some things up for you.

the best way would be to change to the 1 piece shafts. the block off kit comes with an inner axle seal, and and as i said before you use tj shafts that gives you a bigger ujoint anyway. I think there are a couple of people here selling used sets, ( at least i know i have a set i dont need). But you would need a good shop to put the seal in. Its not hard in theory but takes some rigging of all thread and stuff to get it in. Talk to mopartech and see how much he wants to do it.

i agree with turtle on this one.

the easiest and (probably cheapest) way would be to get a set of axles w/ the 4.10's already in them, unless you are thinking about a locker. and even then you could put in an easy lock without removing the carrier. you would also be able to do this install yourself.

    YOu definetely do not want to buy one of those if you are even considering building a cage with it. Pipe benders kink the tubing which is extremely undesirable in a cage. The only person in the club that I know of who has a bender is mopartech. You may consider talking to him about bending the stuff up for you...;

So because of the actions of a few irresponsible people, we are limited in terms of places for us to wheel our vehicles. I know it's not super-exciting-funzo-offroad-mega-park, but it'd be a nice place for the NCC crew to go try out a new lift or locker once in a while.

sorry but the beach is not a place for this..

"Permit-holder must be actively engaged in surf fishing when the vehicle is out on the beach. Appropriate fishing gear must be present - bait, tackle, pole."

So does this mean that you got your fishing permit to "wheel" on the beach and the fishing is just a means for you to get out their "legally" even though it is breaking the rules?

I have the M.O.R.E perches front and rear, and their hi-steer kit. That gives me antoher inch for the rear axle to move and an inch for the front. We will see how she does on the trail before I move things some more.

I just got my shackles, I will try to snap some pics
