At this time i will be in PA around that time. If the club is ok with it i would like to Join the the Ride. I can Run out to TN and get the XJ and bring it up to meet with the club. I have not been out with a group on a trail ride in about 10 years.

Still Have my 1996 XJ that i bought in 96 and i just turned 113,000 miles on her. It is now at my place in TN sitting in the barn at the bottom of the mountian with about a foot of snow to go and play in.

yes the Repeater owner did not mind at first but then people started to abuse the repeater. Foul langue, tying up the repeater and telling Ham Orators to go somewhere else that they were using the channel. so he spent a month at the park is his side by side writing down numbers and recording. He turned it all into the FCC and they took action.

the Baofeng UV-5R is a 5 watt radio it transmits and receives on VHF 136 to 520 megahertz and UHF on 400 to 520 megahertz. CB radio is 11meters that is 40 channels from 26.965MHz to 27.405MHz 2 meter band is 144.0MHZ to 148.0 MHz and the 70CM band is 420MHz to 450.0MHz

the Family Radio Service (FRS0 is 462.5625MHz to 462.7250 and General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) overlaps 462.5625MHz to 467.7250MHz If you stay in the FRS/GMRS range there will be no problem and there are few FRS/GMRS repeaters. I myself think that it is stupid that FRS/GMRS needs a license it is to me the same type of use as CB. Any questions call me

hi I have to comment on this subject.
As some of the older members might remember I had both a CB and a mobile FRS/GMRS radio in my Jeep. Well now I have upgraded to add a 2m and HF ham in the Jeep.I did get my HAM ticket KN4JQU and it was not hard at all. Watch using a repeated I have land in TN and there is a off road park for quads near there and the owner of the repeated turned them into the DVD there was 87 people fined. The fined started at $2,500 per transmission it is legal to land any radio transmitting is the problem My first Ham was A Baofeng I have programmed it for FRS/GMRS, 2m, 70cm, and marine.

I hope every one had a nice Thanksgiving. Rebecca and I spent it at our place in TN. We bought land out there no cabin on it yet but we do have a house also at the bottom in town.

    Hello from NC
some of the old timers may remember me. and i still have my XJ and it still runs
Well i am retired did not plan on it but had a hart attack and quadruple bypass back in May. i was unable to return to work so i took a 3rd early retirement i was working for a bridge building company. Just wanted to say Hi and miss the Jeep club.

When we were called out by the county or state we were covered by the state. That is why the ETC did not work derisively with the hospitals. After covering the cost from 2003 till 2012 I could no longer afford it after my work injures I had a income problem. When I moved no one wanted to take it over. I still get calls for the ETV

That info was on Mile Markers site under Hydraulic vs Electric when I got my winch. It also had to do with the way thay test for Miltery specifations. The 9000 hydrauilic from Mile Marker is the same winch that is installed on the Hummer. (sorry for cursing on a Jeep site)

I like the hydraulic winch. Slower but you can pull all day without letting it cool down.
A electric winch is rated with a rolling load on a 45 degree angle. and a hydraulic winch is rated with a vertical lift.

I put QuickLock in the front and a LockRight in the rear in 1999 and have had no problems with them. Thay make noise when you turn but not that loud. But there are a few things that you must get use to like when you are on the hiway in wet wether going around a bend and take your foot off the gas the Jeep will want to steer stright. I am use to it and it dose not bother me.
