ABS affect axle shafts?

  • Last time I was at the junkyard I saw a bunch of Grand Cherokees with D30 fronts & some strange looking axle shafts. It looked like they were ABS, they has like a toothed ring around it on the wheel hub side.

Can someone confirm whether or not ABS axle shafts would work in a non-ABS vehicle?

  • IIRC, ABS shafts should work in either axle.

  • Jerry's correct, those axles will fit either ABS or non-ABS axles. You can cut off the ring or leave it on. It will work just fine.
