Video Camera Advice for the Holidays

  • Just wanted to throw a little piece of advice out there for anyone contemplating getting a video camera over the holidays, especially if you're going to be using it for jeeping vidoes: check out the Sony Handycam hard drive based cameras. They are amazing, and their pricing is getting lower and lower. You can pick up a 30-gig Handycam for as low as $470, and you can buy the warranty directly from Sony after your purchase.

I've had the SR200 since the beginning of the summer, used it for Jeeping & Kayaking and it has been great. The picture quality rocks, the image stabilization is a life saver, and not having to deal with discs / cassettes is definitely the way to go. It's really a no brainer.

  • you know I was just thinking about getting one of these. I was leaning towards the har drive type because having it burn to he DVD just seems like a pain. Do you think it is worth getting one of the HD models?
