    DuPont Nature Center Offers July 19 Program on Beachcombing


    The DuPont Nature Center at Mispillion Harbor Reserve will hold “Beachcombing Delaware’s Shores” from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 19 at the Center, 2992 Lighthouse Road, Milford.


    Program participants will learn about ocean mollusks of the eastern waters of the Atlantic Ocean and see examples found in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the Carolinas. Beachcombers will also learn where they can find shells and the best places to find them, as well as what they can and cannot take from the waters. The program will feature shells on display, including exotics from around the world.


    No pre-registration is required, and the program is free and open to the public.


    From April 1 through Nov. 1, the DuPont Nature Center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and closed Monday. For more information about the DuPont Nature Center and its programs, please call 302-422-1329, or visit www.dupontnaturecenter.org
