• No, I'm not talking about the idiot at Rehoboth Beach...

My 06 TJ now with 45k on it is starting to give me some issues changing out of 1st gear... It's an automatic and it "thunks" out of first into 2nd less than gracefully... I stopped using it as a daily driver from M-Town to Wilmington... maybe it just needs exercise....

Thoughts on why it is now "jacked up"?

Trans fluid is ok... not changed but not low....

  • If you can bring it by the shop, my Dad would be happy to test drive it and give you his professional opinion. We specialize in transmissions (and we're J4J supporters!) ;D

  • Also check the u-joints and the bolts to the differential. We had a similar issue with one of our fire trucks. Clunked out of 1st and we traced it down to missing bolts on the u-joint to the diff.
