Daily driver

  • I bought my jeep brand new in 02'. Within the last few years I have begun the modifications, all of which I did myself. So now I've decided to join a wheelin group (DEJA) but I'm not sure what I'm in for. My jeep is my daily driver and to be honest I did more wheeling before I modified it. Busy with life ya'll know the routine. Also, Delaware is F L A T and the only place I know to go wheelin is apparently not legal. Imagine my surprise. So long story short, I'm looking for like minded people (jeepers) to teach me where to wheel.

P.S I mailed my membership forms and check to DEJA Sept 30th. Hope to see many of you soon.

  • welcome! :wavey:

you came to the right place. you can find our monthly club runs posted here: http://www.delawareja.com/forum/index.php?topic=27503.0
the closest place is Rausch Creek Off-road Park; information here: http://www.delawareja.com/foru…13723.msg188766#msg188766 and here: http://www.rc4x4.org/

on our club runs we usually have at least two groups, one of which is suitable for stock rigs and/or novice drivers. we have some very experienced trail guides (read: shorebird).
if you come out wheeling on a DeJA run, i guarantee that you WILL have fun! :D

hope to see ya on the trails!

btw, thank you for not wheeling illegal. that is really frowned upon here. our sport has a tough enough time as it is without yahoos out there tearing up land where they don't belong in the first place.

  • Welcome! I got out on my first trail ride with DEJA almost a year ago and was fortunate enough to have Randy as my guide and Ian spotting; the rest of group was also really helpful and patient in showing me just how capable my stock TJ can be out there while having alot of fun, despite the white-knuckling and cursing under my breath! Since then I try to get out on the scheduled rides, or you can even post up when you're free and see if anybody from the club can meet you up at R.C. Camping up there is right in the parking lot, but it's convenient to wake up, roll out of the tent and get to wheeling! There's also other great events with chances to meet and hang out with people that love their jeeps like picnics, beach cleanups and the annual Christmas toy drive, Jeeps for Joy. Definitely come to the meeting and introduce yourself! JoAnn

  • So maybe some of you noticed i said I sent my membership Sept 30, what I meant to say was Aug 30th. Where does the time go anyway? Thanks for all the good tips on where to wheel. I plan on attending the Sept 12th DEJA meeting too. See you all soon.
