Did you know

  • While looking over the 4.0 for the swap Tony pointed out that the power steering pump had a bad pulley.

I decided to reuse the pump off my 2.5

The pump on my 2.5 has a pressure sensor on the high pressure line.
but the old pump on the 4.0 did not come with any pressure lines attached.

As I laid out the wire harness for the motor I noticed I did not have a
connector for the power steering pressure switch.

I dug into Chuck's FSM last night.

Looks like only the 2.5 uses a pressure switch for the power steering.
It tells the computer there if there is a strain on the steering and boosts the rpm to compensate.
The 4.0 does not use this sensor.

    Did you know.....Now you do.
