1-piece axles

    Any CJ owners have a preference on axles? All that I have found are Superior and Moser, are there others? Has anyone had good luck with the brand that you have?

    Go on the Jeeps Unlimited sight and do a search. The subject of one peice axles come up frequently, as well as some problems with the installations.

    - 258 I6

    - '93 Cherokee fuel injection and HO head,

    - bored 30 over

    - with 4x4 cam

    T18 tranny with granny low / Dana 18 t-case

    Dana 44 front and back from late '70s Wagoneer, both locked and loaded with 4.88 gears

    SOA on modified YJ springs with shackle reversa

    Fiberglass tub with 6 point cage mounted to the frame

    I got the superior gear kit, it came with the axles and I got a powertrax no-slip with it. So far no problems and I love it.


    I broke the 2-piece axles, and didn't know it, so it took out my lock-rite also before I realized what was going on.

    I am currently running one Yukon and one moser. Gonna see which one breaks first. Just make sure they are true forged one piece and not two pieces welded together. If you stay with Yukon, Mosser, or Superior you'll be fine.
