Short in horn??

  • Ok so last weekend my horn was just going off on its own and I turned on my jeep and it did stop going off. The other day around 2am it started doing it again. This time however when I turned it on, it would not stop. Usually it would honk then stop, wait awhile then again. No the stupid thing would stop and it was honking when I tried driving it. I ended up pulling out the fuses. Has anyone ever had this problem and what did you do?

  • Sounds like a short. It sounds like you have constant power going to the horn so that tells me it's the switch (horn button). Pull the horn button off and look at the plastic insulator ring that separates the contacts from the 3 mounting screws. I'm thinking it is somewhere in there since that is where the switch is.

  • I had the fuses in while driving it and I turned a few times. It still honked while I was on the road. Thats the reason why I ended up pulling the fuses out.
