Thought I had one in my box of leftover parts, but it's the passenger side. Sorry. Free bump.

Saw a few of those today at the JY. I'll be hitting another one this weekend if you don't want to pay $60. But that's a good deal for a new one shipped.

you may want to try Shor'ts on stateSt. near magnolia
they had some xj around

The passenger side is technically the master control on an XJ. Although all of the main controls are on the driver side, If you have windows etc that won't go up and down and or door lock issues it is most often the passenger side switch. Just throwing that out there....

Wait, what? -
Yea thats true thats were my door lock problem was on the 2000 I had

Wait, what?Believe it or not, the passenger switch is the master module. I only discovered it by accident and then did some google searching to confirm it. My XJ's door locks would click on and off as you drove down the road and the windows on the passenger side would not go up and down. Turns out the passenger side runs it all. Here is a link.....

Interesting. I did not know that and never would have guessed.
But in my case, it's the windows and not the locks that are the issue. The power windows only operate from the driver's switches - none of the individual door window switches work. So, in this case, I do believe the culprit is the driver's door switch module.

I think I'll swap the faulty one for the one in the trail rig. So what if my passenger has no control over their window? I wheel it with the doors off half the time anyway.

Just re read this post today and remembered I had this exact issue when I first got the XJ.I found a bypass trick for the window lock switch on the drivers side unit. I believe all I had to do was put a jumper on the two wires going to the window lock button. I believe one was brown and yellow iirc. I will try to find the write up and post a link.

Try these links, I just did the jumper idea and it has worked for a few years now with no issues so I never bothered fixing the switch. Hope it helps.

X2 on the above post. You lose the lockout switch function from the driver's door but all your windows will work again.
