Lost my turn signals

  • I took the RTI Ramp down to have the fender welded on today

I did disconnect the wire harness but the trailer was still connected to the
Jeep. Anyway after the welding I had no turn signals even after I unhooked the ramp. :upset:

The fuse turned out OK :hmm:

I then swapped out the flasher with the emergency flasher
and they started working again so looks like the welding burnt out the
    flasher.

Cheep fix but it could have been much worse

  • I guess since welding is essentially grounding out a connection to create the arc you sent a short through the ground wire of your system...somehow.

  • I always disconnect my battery when welding on my vehicle, but I know some people who do not. I guess it is the chance you take.

some cars are more sensitive than others. Fords are known to blow up computers from welding with the battery hooked up. Exploders are the worst, i saw one fry a computer from welding the shock mount back on the rear axle.
