Herculiner uses

  • Have a gallon sitting around in black and am going to do the Congo cage with it. Sitting back looking at jeep going to also do stock bumpers, skids and a few other things as well as inside tub. I have used it before on last jeep and other than prep, it worked great and held up. How would it be on a frame compared to POR 15? Hold up or not? Or is por 15 better?

I would minimize the use to interior.

  • Herculiner will fade with UV exposure, so bumper/steps aren't really a great idea. It's really only good when used as a bedliner. I wouldn't use it for anything else. You could use it for exterior armor, but it'll fade and the texture might be a little too much if you use it on steps (scrape the skin off your legs). For frame use, stick to POR-15 or Chassis Saver (my fav), they're much stronger than Herculiner and are much better at rust treatment/prevention. I used Chassis Saver on the frame for my trailer and used spray paint as a top-coat... at the DMV, they couldn't hammer through it to stamp in the VIV. "Uh, go to Four Acres, they can do it for you". :)
