*TRAIL REPORT* Another great day at Rausch Creek! We had four Jeeps: @Stomper, @Down Hill Roller, @baldchris and me. Icy again this month, but an inch or so of fresh snow on the trails provided more traction. We left the parking lot at 9:00 sharp with Stomper leading, and headed over to the northeast side. We did mostly blues all day because of the snow, but we covered all of Snakebite, which is black but flat. We stayed away from the west side, which was so icy in January. We did 21, which has some off camber bits that were a lot of fun in the snow! We did Tatas, where Stomper enjoyed being the first one to break ice and put tracks in the fresh snow. We circled back to the parking lot about 2:30 to drop off baldchris, then hit a few of the close-in trails and finally got back on the highway about 4:00.
Speaking for myself, the transmission worked fine with the new synchros and the new 35" BFG KM3s worked great on their second time out. The Jeep is still a lot of fun on black trails like Snakebite, but with not nearly so much banging on the skid plates! The Jeep went straight up the left side of the climb out of Pole Line on the way back, where Stomper had to struggle a bit -- sometimes the narrower track on the CJ can be an advantage!
The March club ride is scheduled for the 16th at RC, but we're talking about changing it to Sunday the 24th possibly to get a better turnout. We'll start a separate sign-up thread. Hope to see you all there!

My 4 hour trip home took 24 but all vehicles and trailer are home.
-
So what happened Chris?
-
Think the bearing in the front of my truck have gone bad.
The tire was just a little to low PSI and it will walk the inner bead off. -
Chris I'm glad you made it home ok. Like slowpoke said we had a good day only some minor trail issues and one boo-boo in the parking lot with downhill rollers truck and trailer. The parking lot was a sheet of ice and probable the biggest challenge of the morning. We tried to run (in the afternoon) the Krawl for cops trail but it was to slick with wet snow and ice we may also have been trying to do it in the wrong direction. The next club ride is on the 16th of March, I will be doing a Sunday run on the 24th of March mainly so my son can join us. Also as was mentioned attendance has been light on the rides so I want to see if a Sunday ride makes a difference. I will start a new thread for that so feel free to sign up.

Well the white crusty snow in the parking lot was not crusty, is was solid ice, so you slide into position or not. Even on level ground the JK was spinning wheels while trying to pull the Dodge who was spinning wheels with his 5th wheel trailer and going now where, was funny to watch after my little mishap. But all and all it was a good day. The new Dana 30 Aussie front locker made a difference for climbing up the hills.
