water in oil

  • While stripping the 2.5
I pulled the oil filter and it had water in it.
This had to occur while the motor was running
    I'm now thinking
It may have cracked the head or the block causing water to mix with the oil. This would have starved the rod bearing of oil causing the rod failure.
I may pull the head just to take a look at it.

  • A blown head gasket could do the same thing. The could be ok still. However if the head was warped from heat or cracked, it could have caused the blown head gasket. Its a vicious cycle.
