Rausch Creek Run (Not a DEJA run)

  • Well myself and Dave (85cj7) and his brother in law Carter went up to RC today.

Started out on the way up with Dave breaking a brake line on the pavement. After a quick repair (thankfully Dave keeps spares), we got up there about 8:30. After talking to Lynn for a while we headed out. We pretty much followed the same trail as last week but did a few of the off camber sections of L3. After a few tank traps and several trails later we ended up at the rock garden on 1a. (This is where all the damage to Greg (Jeepers) jeep happened last week) I wanted to run the garden again since I didn't get to finish it last week. After getting through the others followed. We went on down to the pole line and then Dave stopped to check out a few new noised from the jeep. We quickly found he had sheared off the Ubolt from the leaf pack so we called back to Lynn and she had a spare. So we headed off to the office where we quickly swapped out the part. While there Lynn showed us her new toy. A 1953 Willy's. We helped her get it started but then noticed her carb was leaking a lot of fuel so we decided she shouldn't drive it yet until she replaced the carb. (She said she also has a spare on of those too.) Anyway we started to go back out to the pole line when Dave stopped again and found out he did something inside the rear diff. It was making a loud popping sound every now and then. Since it was already about 1pm we decided to put him on my trailer and he drove mine home.

All in all a good day even though it was cut short. Weather was great and I wasn't in my office. What more could you ask for.

  • I didn't get a lot of pics because I was the lead vehicle. Once I got through I was spotting mostly.
Dave on the other hand had a dash cam so I think he might have got some good video of the back of my jeep.

  • I just got done watching it. Turned out awesome. Next time we go, even if your jeeps not back togethar, you should ride and videotape. It would be awesome to have video of each of our rides. Its ashame that the vid doesn't do justice to the rocks were on.

Oh well, Great job man :peace:
