So, I need to repair the two front bolt holes for the oil pan in my Jeep. I bought the appropriate helicoils but have no experience using them. Can I use a longer bolt of the same thread pitch, notch the tip of the bolt shank, with a nut threaded onto the bolt above the helicoil to set the helicoil into the hole? Do I use loctite on the helicoil to keep it in place once it's set? I am completely unedjyuuumahcayted on this subject. I'm currently referencing Youtube for some schooling...

Lifetime supply of grab handles to anyone who can finish the kitchen sink in less time than it takes me to run through the meeting agenda. Even if they don't finish in time everyone wins with a shorter meeting.
After eating that kitchen sink, said person will have plenty of their own personal grab handles!
@chuckiethecat I added ya to the list! Hope to see ya there!

I'm banking on he gave you an outrageous price and time frame in order to dissuade you from using their shop. "No thank you sir, I don't like money.. I have plenty."

It was there before, the thread would show an edit if it was changed.
I think we should do some type of contest for anyone that can eat an entire kitchen sink.
KITCHEN SINK
Everything but! Serves two to four! Twenty scoops (that’s right, 20) ofvanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream, just jammed with bananaspears, chocolate syrup, crushed pineapple, cherries and wet walnuts andloaded with whipped cream, topped with cherries 19.95Dude, Jerry and I were talking about this yesterday! I remember how hard it was to finish this thing when we were teenagers! Usually by the end it's just a gooey bowl of melted ice cream!

Can anyone post more info about this? I do not use FB and the link showed nothing to me but a login page.
Thanks

Yeah, let me pull the details from Facebook and I'll post them here.

This was an amazing event last year that I was priveleged to be a part of it!! The amount of support that turned out was humbling to say the least. Jeff Lehnert who is also on the Jeeps for Joy BOD organized the event. I would encourage anyone who is able to go to do so. Barring any unforeseen obstacles, I will be there again this year!

Welcome!! My cousin had the same color on his Jeep. I like it but yeah, it was referred to as baby poop green more than a few times!

Welcome aboard!!

Don't you have a Commando you should be building?

Welcome! We're planning out our next club meeting for March. Once the details are set and posted, come on out and meet the crew! Welcome to the Jeep life!!

I'm thinking about that but I'm really not happy with the weak design. Of course the argument is that it lasted how many years with no issues so....
Big thing is to beef up the hole area since it is now weakened from being bent, rebent, and bent again.Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Do you have enough area to access the linkage and tack weld a reinforcement piece in there maybe? I think I would take Andy up on his idea/offer to fab up a stronger linkage.

I haven't had a chance to use the soft shackle that I won last year but watching their product videos left me more than a bit impressed!

They had a JL on display at the Infidel meet and greet this past weekend. I believe it was a local dealer that brought it for show and tell. As a YJ guy, I'm not impr... just kidding, I liked it! The fender lights and tail lights still irk me but I could look past them. After more than a few years of getting beat to hell both physically and financially in my YJ, I'm about ready to upgrade to a more comfortable and reliable ride...not to mention cargo space! Not that it will occur anytime soon but I can't say I hated driving my brother's JKU around for a month or so.

I'm game too and wouldn't mind splitting a campsite. I'll have to check with the wife to make sure there's no school stuff happening with the boys that weekend. Might even bring them along as well.

Found the short I have been chasing.
