Welcome aboard Dan. Hope to see ya out and about...

I appreciate everyone volunteering to help. I am probably gonna take you guys up on it mostly for an extra set of hands. In the next couple weeks I am gonna bring it back from the beach because I want to put a new water pump, stat, and hoses on seeing mine are original with 172K miles on it. I need to buy a transmission jack.ALSO: note that my garage is heated and I have a lift, so none of us will be cold, thirsty, hungry, or working on our backs.
Jerry, just sent my membership form
I will be away between Feb 4th thru the 11th and won't be available until Sunday the 12th. Thanks -
To my knowledge, the third brake light doesn't come on with clearance lights. It only lights up when the brake is applied. It could also be the brake switch. I believe it's on the brake pedal. It's supposed to be wired to the brake light only.

Definitely sounds like there's more to that story. If and when you are ready to do your clutch, I would be more than happy to give you a hand, at least to get started. Just send a pm.
I think one of the biggest things is the parts should clunk together nicely. If you have to use a bolt to " pull it up" then something is wrong. Back in the day you would save an old input shaft for use as an alignment tool since not everyone had them. Now I think every clutch kit includes a plastic one.
Count me in. Provide breakfast/lunch and some beverages for Andy and I and we can call it a wrenching party. Send me a pm as well when ur ready. Until then..... -
Feb 5th??? Will it count if Kare and I do it from Bloody Bay in Jamaica?? Would love to participate if it's ok. I think we can coordinate a synchronized dip

The wife and I had a blast. Nice meeting more people and seeing others again!! Thanks to everyone who put any effort to putting this together. It was well worth the drive in the snow. I didn't get any pics of the jeeps, sorry. Until next time!!

I vote 2 tickets...
If 1 ticket per person means there is 1 gift to leave with everyone who attends, and the last ticket holder gets the winch on top of the gift....... Evil and Bassackwards it is!!

I think you're the only one doing this.
He's not alone, I'm doing it as well. Why not, I think it will be fun. -
I had a shift in the rear when accelerating and decelerating... Hence bushing replacement.
-
Considering this was my first time, I am not too sure about the movement of the rear when I removed the driver's side lower control arm. Is that normal? I didn't get any movement on the pass side at all. I did have the Jeep in the air about 6" on stands under the rear.
-
I started with replacing the rear lower control arm bushings. Pass side first, no problems. Removed bolts and control arm basically fell out without hesitation. Removed old bushings, cleaned, greased and in with new poly bushings, reinstalled. Started to duplicate on the driver's side and made it as far as removing the nuts. There was some tension on the bolts holding them in. After some persuasion I was able to get them out. When I did, I noticed the rear moved on me about a half inch. Again repeated the process of reinstalling them and decided to get a jack and a block and lifted the front shaft of the rear only. Once I achieved the correct angle, the bolts slid in without any force. Job complete for the lowers. Next will be the uppers.
I also finally installed jks discos on the front. -
Looking at Friday December 30 now. This will probably be a fairly light green-blue day depending on weather. Sign up if you want to go.
