Are TJ 4WD's vacuum actuated or did they move away from that?

A clutch will begin slipping before it goes. A bad clutch will also typically disengage high (as soon as you put pressure on the pedal). You'll smell it when it slips. A worn linkage will not engage until you push the pedal all the way to the floor …

sorrry dont know any shops down there but have them inspect the frame while they r under the jeep. Lots of issue on tj frames

what year? What were the symptoms? Just a dead pedal?

Received mine yesterday.

It’s been a good ride so far. At 58,300 miles I lost the clutch. AAA towed to a good transmission shop I’ve used before (automatic). I’ll find out tomorrow whether it’s the clutch or the linkage. No warning to speak of so I’m guessing linkage…

Are there any good shopped down at the beach that can take a look at an 04 Wrangler? When putting it into 4WD the indicator says it’s engaged but it doesn’t. Please let me know!
