I have a YJ hardtop and as everyone knows the rear window won't work with the drop tailgate. So can i just modify the back window or does anyone have another suggestion?

I think they are different but check the hinges/gate measurements on both hardtops and you may be able to put a CJ lift gate on the YJ hardtop. I don't think it will work but I have a CJ liftgate with window you can have if it does. Some aftermarket tops you may be able to switch parts on, not sure which one you have. I have a CJ hardtop if you need measurements.

is there a kit for the yj tailgate conversion to a cj or just figure it out kit. sorry didnt mean to hijack. couldnt pm

You can mod the CJ tailgate so it can be locked and unlocked with small handles from the outside. Shouldn't be too hard to do.
