You can and its a great power mod, but you have to do some machining on the head. I think there are some alignment issues for water jackets ect. Google it, should find several write ups.

I'm doing that now. It's not that hard at all. You want an HO head from about '91 to '94 I believe.
I had issues that I'm sure are unique to my Jeep. That's always my luck.
Here are some links to get you started:

Buy a FSM for the EFI system you get. When you convince yourself that spending $100 is not worth it since you only need the electrical stuff, go buy the FSM anyway.
Benny Fulps from HESCO has been a great source of info. He sold me my CPS and harmonic balancer kit for my motor and has apparently done a lot of EFI conversions. You may not need the kit I bought depending on where your motor is coming from. CPS is usually mounted by the fly wheel. I wasn't pulling my motor to change the flywheel so the kit I bought has the CPS mounted on the vibration dampener pulley.

Sorry I didn't notice the vehicle you had.
You won't have to worry about the fuel pump and running new lines, or the speed sensor. You'll still need the 4.0L wiring harness and computer.
