YJ horn button removal

  • If it has the same horn button as mine.

It just pulls off, it may require a pretty good tug though.

  • That's the same set up as the CJ.

Word of warning: Don't remove the green plastic ring that is held down with the 3 screws without diconnecting the horn wire first.

Ask me how I found THAT out...

  • I was working in the garage late one night (12:30 a.m.) and when I removed that plastic peice the horn started going off. I made a mad dash to remove the horn wire, tripping cursing a few things in the process.

  • Does anyone know if a late CJ and early YJ horn button are the same on a stock wheel? I found a '86 CJ button for half the price of a '88 YJ version.
