04 x with vibrations??

  • hey folks new to the site. i was wondering if you could help me pin point my vibration issue. just installed a 4 inch lift on my x and when i took a short drive i noticed a moderate vibrations when gas is pushed. I'm almost certain that its due to the drive shaft angle since I'm still running on stock tires and rims until Thursday, but i figured i would ask just in case...on a side note anybody ever have to remove the the bolts that bevel with the grease fittings on the end. they are found on the tie rod and few more places on the steering hardware i did a number on mine and would like to replace it myself just wondering if its a pain and i should just pay somebody. thanks for the help. I'm looking to have this done i would like to check out roush creek when you folks go.

  • yup suggest SYE and new driveshaft... here ya go

these are very simple to install... this is the BEST and right way to fix your problum... you can also drop the skid plate with 1in spaces... but dont reccomend this becasue it defeats the purpose of lifing the jeep... you can also put 1in motor mount lift in... this is the kit i used... http://browndogindustries.com/

for the grease fitting im not sure but they should be removabule... dont be eager to pay for things that you can do yourself... and how did u "mess them up" ive done lots of wheeling and never broken a grease fitting.. make sure their clean before you try to fill them .. not saying its not possible to break those.....

this is not the only source their are many different compaines depending on how much you spend... i personally have an advance adapter slip yoak and 4wd driveshaft... but to each's own... hope this helps...

  • If you do an SYE/CV shaft then you will need rear upper adjustable control arms. SYE are not hard to put in, but they are not just a 10 minute job. Some are easier then others. If you have not already dropped the tcase down 1" then that would be my first suggestion to you. Yes I know it "kind of" defeats the purpose of a lift, but really it doesn't. Your bumpers and everything else are still the lifted height, just the skid is dropped. Even if you do moderate wheeling, that will not affect the performance of the vehicle. In most cases, the 1" drop will clear up the driveline vibrations after a lift.
