yj temp gauge problem

    I swapped out a 1990 4.2 for a rebuilt 87 4.2 installed new temp sending unit and it starts at 200 cold? The gauge worked fine for the 1990. Anyone?????? I've tried every year sending unit I could find tired of buying them.

    Time to get a decent meter and start measuring. There are troubleshooting guides on the net..

    Switch to a mechanical meter. I have mine screwed into the side of the block.
