    Can anyone tell me what this code means? My 99 xj's check engine light came on and that was the code. I'm lost.

    P1494-LEAK DETECTION PUMP SW OR MECHANICAL FAULT


    start by checking the gas cap (is it tight?) and then check the vacuum lines.
