yj fender removal

    Was wondering if anyone has any idea or if there is a write up on how to remove fenders. Mine are completely rusted out after further inspection.... I think the paint is the only thing holding them together. I was going to go fiberglass but from advice and articles they weren't what I was looking for. Good news is I'm getting ready to install bushwhacker cut outs after I figure out how to get these damn things off.

    Anytime you take your 20+ year old jeep apart plan on fixing more them you intended.

    Should come right off by removing the firewall bolts and grill bolts. They may be rusted up so you may want to hit them with oxy/acetylene or oxy/mapp gas heat to get them cherry red and break the rust. I've had better luck with heat then I have with penetrating oil.


    An impact gun works well too but may be hard to get up in the firewall.
