Jeeps for Joy Dec 7th Wish List Drive 12:00-3:00

    This years Jeeps for Joy winter event will be held at the Ruby Tuesdays in Pike creek Dec 7th 12:00-3:00 with a caravan to the Ronald McDonald house afterwards to deliver the wish list items collected. We will have raffle items from Quadratec, A to Z Fabrication, and a bunch of local businesses. We will also have t-shirts and Hooded sweatshirts on sale!!     I was just telling a coworker a little history about the event and inviting her along. She has been a Jeep owner (GC's) for a looooong time but just acquried an 03 TJ a few months back. She brought up an interesting question that I did not have an absolute answer to so I figured I'd ask here.

    Now, I know that there are toys on the wishlist for RMH and that in the years past when we were collecting for AI that toys were the main focus of the event. I seem to remember a good amount of toys being collected but I don't recall if that was last year or the year before. I do know that JFJ collected a lot of the wishlist items other than toys but I'm not sure what the ratio between the two was. My question is, how focused is JFJ on toy collections for the kids as opposed to the other wishlist items for RMH? I'm sure that some toys would be greatly appreciated but the wishlist items, in my opinion, are more of a necessity. I told her that a toy or two would be great but that the houseware items would be of greater use.

    Since this is only our 2nd year working with RMH, Should there be some sort of communication to those who'll be attending of what the focused priority of the collection should be? Just thinking out loud here since I can't recall if we were toy-heavy last year or more balanced between toys and the other items.

    Toys are always welcome. Last year a few people brought toys to donate and RMH will take them obviously (no stuffed animals). However, our focus has been providing them with the wish list items that they need for the every day functioning of the house.

    It was fun even in the cold. Thanks to everyone who came out. HUGE THANKS to Ruby Tuesday's for their hospitality and giving us a place to thaw out and warm up!! Apparently the DEJA reserved seating is the bar. :laughing:

    I am sorry I missed it. I just bought my first house 11/22 and the well died the saturday after thanksgiving. I spent saturday at the bank getting a loan for fixing it. Hopefully next year.

    Congrats on the new house! Sux that you're already having to deal with a major issue though.

    There's always JFJ volunteer events that you can participate in throughout the year. Just keep an eye out on the forum here for when they're announced. :up: :up:
