YJ backup lights

    Anybody know where the switch is located for the backup lights in a YJ with an automatic trans? I don't think i'm gonna pass inspection without backup lights.

    Not sure were the switch is, but it is interl to the tranny. Just look for a pug with 2 wires coming off it. BTW, DE does not require reverse lights to pass inspection. They do NOT check.

    its on the drivers side of the trans. its a little round black plug with 3 wires on it. its also a neutral safety switch. check your linkage for adjustment

    Thanks guys. This helps out a lot. Knowing that this backup lights and neutral saftey switch kinda makes sence. Knowing that I was able to start the engine while the jeep's in "D"rive makes me believe that this might a a bad neutral start switch.
