Getting a lift.

Where is it happening at?

looks like my house. when we get closer, I can PM my address to those that will def be there, but the general area is just west of "downtown" Newark, off of 273. less than 5 min from mainstreet

Yep, I'm free.

how early do people want to start working saturday? I should be ready around 9. im gonna PM my address in a few minutes.
addyand...just another reminder to start/keep spraying your bolts -
9 sounds good. It's not supposed to snow until the afternoon. I wonder how effective wd40 is in these temperatures. I imagine it works it's way into the joints as the vehicle moves.
-
WD40 isn't really what you want to use... you need a penetrating fluid like PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench (must say penetrating on the can!). something that'll seep in and eat the rust. WD-40 is just a basic lube, remember that its original purpose is for "water displacement". There are far better oils for almost any purpose.
Spray the shock bolts, swaybar bolts, control arm bolts and the trackbar bolts as well. Even if you're not replacing all of those items, sometimes it makes it a lot easier if you loosen a little. Spray before and after driving... all the vibrations from driving will help the oil soak in a lot better.
-
It's been sprayed with wd40. Just picked up a can of pb blaster. I'll saturate them good in the morning.
-
The good news is that I haven't seen much rust. I think the bolts will come off fairly easy.

Haha, I've done lifts that took 8 hours because of nasty bolts, and lifts on relatively newer JKs that took 2.5 hours. Avoiding the mud helps

We had a successful lift thanks to E-Rock, Solomi, and whatevah. Thank you all so much for putting in the time, effort and expertise. I never could have done it on my own, especially during a snowstorm. I'll be getting the tires on Monday.
Some pics of the results

The lift went on pretty easily, I don't think anybody bled. Started a little after 9, took our time and finished just after 4. By that time, there was around 5" of snow on the ground. Thankfully, Eric had a propane heater for the garage. Went on very smooth, especially for a 5 year old Jeep.

Great day and pretty easy install. It should look and be pretty tough with the mtr's.
Anyone know if sal made it home?
Btw, that was some awesome pulled pork, Andy!!
-
yeah it was fun, glad to help.
And I did get home, took kirkwood highway all the way up, and even though I stayed on the well traveled lane, any time I had to stop I fish tailed and almost went sideways through the intersection

Looks great! Can't wait to see it with new tires too.
(Might want to load slightly smaller pictures next time so you can see the whole thing without having to slide around on the screen)

After pics with new wheels and tires.
