Back again

  • Used to be a member back when I had my old XJ. Left in '07 when I parted ways with my old warhorse. Good news, I sold my XJ to a friend and it's still soldiering on. Even better news, just bought a CJ5. Holy crap was it a PITA to buy and get it, but it looks like a smart buy.

The good: 1967 CJ5, less than 50k original miles, Koenig top, Warn overdrive, tow setup.

The bad: No brakes, runs really rich, some knocks and rust bubbles. Old holes in the top and bodywork.

So, does anybody know a Jeep shop capable of doing a mild restoration? I'm interested in getting it mechanically reliable first. Then getting it all prettified.

  • I loved my Warn overdrive. Until it blew up that is.

Nice Jeep. Used to have a steel Acme hard top like that. Major pain to get it on and off.
