Picked up a new to me Cherokee this past week. My own Christmas gift. Working on changing the alternator so I can get it thru inspection. The bottom bolt is giving me a hell of a time trying to get it out. Any ideas? Remove the fan? Only have two knuckles left to bust.

The bottom bolt should use a 15mm socket. Have you tried going at it from the bottom with a breaker bar? Is it rounded off? If its that tight you may need to put a little heat on the threaded housing to break that galvanic corrosion (dissimilar metals).

Heat or Pb blaster and let it sit a while

All good now. Looked a little silly but used the handle bars off the daughters tricycle to get the leverage. Broke loose fairly easily. Must have been the sparkling streamers.
