Jeep wave!!!!!!!!!

  • I was out driving around all day today (sat). I must have past 10 jeeps , I didn't get a single wave back . Most of them stock TJ'S one w/ a NIKE swoosh on the window. Is the jeep wave not cool anymore ?? Oh yeah one other thing , i didn't buy my YJ new. When one buy's a new jeep does the dealer explain the jeep wave , or is it in the owners manual?

    I got neither....buying it new.

  • i get waves about 40 percent of the time..most being from other lifted TJ's, all YJ's and CJ's... no explanation when i bought mine but the first jeep i drove past waved...then i remembered about it (first jeep)

  • I was told by my salesperson that there is a huge responsibility to owning a jeep.
    1. Jeep wave is mandatory
    2. Always stop to help a jeeper that is broken down

  • I've noticed alot of the younger jeep drivers in Newark don't wave (even though I am one myself), but most of the wilmington/pa/highway drivers wave.

My dealer told me about the wave, and I also read about the monkey business with this club, so I don't dare not wave!

I was told the same thing (bought mine at Brandywine in Smyrna).
I get about 50/50 on the waves from non-lifted/modified TJ's I wave to, but who cares.......maybe if I keep it up I'll win them over ;)

  • everytime i pass a CJ when im in my YJ, there is never any hesitation, but all stock pretty boys in their TJ's look at me weird...i think thats the best part about owning a jeep. you have all of these friends that you don't know

  • I seem to only get waves back from guys in modified jeeps. Stock wranglers seem to just look at me funny.

My feeling is - always wave.

  • There has been a lack of waves lately. Before a friend of mine bought his jeep he picked up a brochure on the wrangler. On one of the pages it said that by buying a Jeep you are joining a brotherhood and that other jeep owners will wave at you as you go by. I thought that was pretty cool.

I almost always get waves back from guys in jeeps :driving:

yea my wife gets the same thing.. then she sees the drool trail behind them...
i dunno something about a girl in a jeep..
(ill prolly get slapped for typing that) :innocent:

  • Def always wave no matter what. Even if some people don't wave back they will see you wave and think about it and hopefully realize they are supposed to wave back. We have to keep up the tradition and it is just a reflex now so I don't think I could stop even if I wanted to. :wavey: I can't wait until it is warm again and then people will get the whole arm wave. :spinrhead:

  • How about the opposite of the non-wave.....the WRONG WAVE?

Has anyone ever accidentally waved to an FJ, Defender, or Samurai?

I started to put my hand up to an FJ the other day, but realized it in time.

Theres a pretty nice FJ in Bear actually.

  • hehe nothing wrong with waving to somebody... the wrong thing is when you don't return somebody elses wave! :)

that's one reason I like driving down Rt 9... you'll usually at least get a nod from the truck passing you (they only own pickups along route 9.. hehe)
