motor mounts

  • OK i need motor mounts my are sad and the donor vehicles are sad. im considering polyurethanes cause of price but worried about extra noise and vibrations. and those m.o.r.e.s sound nice do the brown dogs equal them? they are considerably less expensive. the MOREs are way too expensive.

  • I had the MORE Mounts on for a few years till i broke one of the studs off. There was some dryrot on the rubber bushings when i removed them. Ive had the daystar mounts on for several years now with no issues. I seem to remember maybe a small difference in vibration from the rubber to the poly, but not enough to really matter much. If I were to purchase another set, Id get the browndogs as I have heard alot of good things about them, they seem a bit beefier than the daystars and they have an American flag on the side.

  • get rubber, from whatever company you decide. The poly are stronger, but will transmit a lot more vibes into the body. It's not that bad on a framed vehicle because you have the frame taking the hit and the body mounts absorbing what's left, but on a unibody rig, you'll hear and feel it. Especially if you mechanical fan is a little out of balance. Trust me. lol

when I did my first engine swap, I switched back to generic stock rubber mounts from the yellow daystar (discontinued, I got the last set ever made) ones I had been using.
