Looking for cheap M101

  • Im in the middle of a major yard project and looking
for a cheap solid dump trailer. The M101s seem to fit
perfectly. Im considering one in NJ for $450, but
thought id put it out here in case anyone is looking to
free up yard space. Bows/tarp are not critical, rust
okay, just needs to be soild enough to move stone/soil.

    Appreciate it!

  • Well its not decent, and with my truck I'm looking at about
$100-150 in gas/tolls to drive over to get it. There's a guy in
Clayton with a A2 he wants $1000 for and a guy in Glen Dale
with an A1 for $750. I'm not necessarily opposed to paying
any of these prices, its just since it will be baddly abused and
likly thrown away I was hoping someone here had one with one
foot already in the grave they wouldn't mind parting with.

Almost bought a M105 thinking it was a dump trailer, can't
begin to tell you how disappointed I was to make that discovery...

  • If your really looking for a trailer to do yard work, i.e. move stone/dirt, then you may want to just use a home depot/lowes trailer with a fold down ramp/gate. I have both types (4'x6' military knock-off and a 5x8 utility) and the utility holds much more volume and is much easier to load and unload because of the ramp. This is especially true when using a wheelbarrow to load/unload it. Many times I have put 2k lbs. (stone) in the utility trailer and it goes down the road just fine. Also the utility is about 200 lbs. lighter to start with, comes with all new bearings/bushings/tires/hubs which are 5 on 4.5". The military type does look much cooler though. just offering a suggestion. good luck with whatever you choose. GAP

  • There is one for sale on Route 42 just west of Kenton.

  • Gap - I appreciate the advice, but I am specifically looking to
avoid wheelbarreling it which is why I am after a dump body.
Trouble is true dump trailers are $2500+ even used.

Nitro - Thanks for the heads up! I am currently negotiating
for one in DC, but I sent this guy a txt just to see what he's
asking. If its the same guy from CL he wants $1000 which is
a bit more than I want to spend right now. I will keep you
    posted.
