Need Help with a couple wiring Issues

  • *I need to get the Hi-Beam foot switch wired in..... No existing plug.
    *Reverse lights are not working.

If you are in N Wilmington area, Id be happy to provide food and beer. Just need input. I can manage the install. I just have a shit time trying to figure out electrical crap.

    Thanks
    Dennis

  • While you're into the harness, I'd suggest wiring in some relays to get more power to your headlights. It's pretty simple and it made a night and day difference in my YJ. Below is a link to the write up with a diagram that shows which color wire goes to Highs/Lows.

Not sure what kind of Jeep you are working on but the reverse switch light is in the harness off of the trans in my YJ.

Your life is made up of 2 dates and a dash... make the most of the dash!

  • Thanks for the heads up! Wiring is the only thing I just can't seem to handle so Ill do my best to work on relays. Thanks again

  • I have a Tech Service Manual for a '79. The wiring will be a little different but something like the high beam switch shouldn't be too different. Just 3 wires.

Actually, here is a wiring diagram for a '78 that might help for the high beams:

  • The guy that owned before me ripped most of wiring out and ran his own so I think its a bit different then stock wiring.

  • Ha..yeah I'd say so. Hopefully he did a good job.
