Gorilla Glass

  • Saw this article. I wonder if this will become the new norm for all vehicles?

  • Very odd that it's being offered as an upgrade option. I can't think of another production vehicle with multiple choices in windshield glass. On one hand, the Wrangler is the most frequently replaced windshield our there so having a more resilient windshield is better...on the other hand if one were in a front end collision you want the glass to have some give if your head meets it.

I'm sure it has an acceptable head-impact rating. That's actually a tested value by the way. I did some work on a plastic for automobile B-pillars back in the day.
