broke gas gauge

    Replaced the gas tank in my CJ last weekend. After I got everything reconnected, the gas gauge does not work. I checked and there is current on the sending unit. I had to jimmy everything because the trailquest tank I bought has everything facing toward the back instead of the front like the stock tank did, I did not replace the ground wire, but added a tail. Could this be the problem? It is an new sending unit since I went with the 24 gallon tank.

    All the problems I have ever had have either been a bad ground or the resistor piece inside the tank attached to the sending unit is no longer working. Since it is a new sender I am betting it is a ground. Also, make sure it is not the guage. You should be able to measure the resistance off the sending unit before the guage to see if is working. I don't know the correct resistance #'s. but a quick search would probably get you what you need.
