new parts installed now problems

  • both track bars are only 2 months old
well the rear one is alittle older
had the jp aligned last week
it was okay alittle better but not perfert
i have swapeed the tires around 4-5 times now
and have checked the air pressure many times with several different gauges

i thought it was the control arms
so i swapped them out and put a set of stock ones one
(im only running a 3.5 lift)
    that didnt help either

  • so i dropeed the heep off tonight for the alignment tom

of that doesnt work im gonna get a set of front hub assemblies
and a new distrbution block for the brakes

    more freakin money

cheapest i could find the hub units were

    link here

  • not a vibration issue

torque steer and a constant pull to the driver side
are the two issuse im dealing with

the tech at the dealer said that the problem is likely being caused by
    comething _giving_ in the rear
and is causing the axle to tweak when under power or off to apply
    the brakes

he could not find anything loose or any thing that was _giving_

    neither could i
everything is torque to spec and is tight

    and thoughts ?

  • My questions was that I thought you said earlier in the thread that your problem went away will smaller tires, is that true or not? If so I would think it is something with your tires.

It is happening on acceleration I wonder if your rear upper and lower control arms need to be adjusted.

If it is happening on braking I would think maybe the brake proportioning valve is bad or you have air in one of your rear lines so one side is getting more pressure than the offer.

Do you have rear drums? Their are supposed to be auto adjusting if you do but they don't always work to well and if you don't pull your parking brake, I don't think they adjust much at all. Pull the rear tires and adjust the brakes so the drums just barely brush the pad on each side when you spin the drum.

  • yes with the smaller tires on it was unnoticable

i have four wheel disc and have bleed them repeatedly
    no real adjustments to make

even swapped the hard lines on the brake
distrubution block thinking it was bad and that maybe it would pull to the oppisite direction
    that didnt help any

i have fixec lowers and adj rear uppers that are set to stock legnth

so basicall the jeep will torque steer to the d/s when u hit the gas and let out of the cluth light at a stop sign
and under hard braking will pull to the d/s

  • Have you had your wheels and tires rebalanced in the process of doing all these other mods and fixes?

I was told by Delaware Tire Center that even mild tire changes from stock tire size and tread can have negative effect and depending on a variety of circumstances can cause wandering and pulling. Deeps tread patterns can do that if you are running some variety of mud terrain.

I have to believe your problem stems from your wheels and tires if it isn't noticeable when you change them.

What about wallowed control arm or track bar busings that could be allowing the axle to shift slightly on hard acceleration and braking but settle straight at cruising speeds?

  • no havent had the rim and tires rebalanced yet
prob gonna do that next week

    the control arms maybe
    loke i said tho
i took the aftermarket ones off and installed the stock ones
    same effect

the track bar and mount looked perfect when i installed it

ill find a tire shop other than the place i bought them
    from to rebalanc them
