LOL, true. it's like a foreign language. Geoff is multi-lingual!
Don't get me started on dissecting the fiber channel protocol, data deduplication algorithms, how Oracle multiplexes it's database files within an RMAN backup set, the pluses and minuses of the elimination of single instance store in Exchange 2010 or any of the other crap I have going on at work unless you want your eyes to start rolling.
Don't get me started on...
damn, i was just about to ask about that. some other time then...
got the HTC Thunderbolt
My buddy has one there are nice!!
Good choice! I've had mine since release day.
I got one too. I had the Droid 2 and the Droid before, and I rooted and installed new ROMs on both. Haven't felt the need to do so with the Thunderbolt. Runs smooth and quick, like it should.
Anyone else having issues with the new Android Update that Verizon put out and has since pulled it off because of bugs???
Is there a way to uninstall?

Which phone?
Droid 2 Global
I have the same phone (but have it hacked to hell), the only issue I'm aware of with Motorola's update that got pulled recently was related to using an Exchange server. If you aren't using it to connect to your work email it shouldn't affect you. What problems are you having? An update is supposed to start rolling out next week.

My FB will not open - it updated last night, my text messaging went wonky earlier but its working now. Its sucking batterly life like crazy. Not sure what else yet - almost like having to relearn how to use it all over again!
I think FB released another update last night or this morning. might be worth checking to see if there is another available. Check the task manager to see if there is anything running. Fwiw, I use Juice Defender to help out with battery life.
Yeah, I think there have been two FB updates in the past day or so. I saw some people reporting white screens when they try to open it. I notice my GPS firing up all the time when I open FB now which probably isn't good, need to figure out how to turn that off.
They are watching you. Microsoft, Apple, and Google too! Be very afraid.

Bet they have a huge file on Geoff.
Unfortunately, they are watching us. http://online.wsj.com/article/…04576277101723453610.html
As far as the update issues, I can't imagine myself ever going back to an unrooted phone. The control I have over the system is incomparable to a stock ROM/recovery. It's not for everyone though. Most people really shouldn't have that much control over their phones. It's pretty easy to mess things up pretty quickly while rooted.
FB was working by last night, little bit easier to read.
The other problem I have with it is it goes to black screen after a couple seconds - ticks me off when I'm trying to do something. I have the settings so it's only supposed to that between the hours of 11pm and 6am, or so I thought. Have to figure out how I had set that up.

So what "control" are you using? New built-in tools available? New applications written by other developers that aren't available otherwise? Are you writing your own applications because no one else is providing what you want?
And what are/could you be breaking?

I'm not typing all of this out right now but examples would be the ability to use Titanium back-up to restore individual apps to previous states or restore data only. With a root explorer, I can delete files in otherwise protected folders. Free wireless hot spot. Delete bloatware supplied by the carrier. Full Nandroid back-ups, etc. (I could go on for a while but you get the idea.)
As far as breaking...the controls I mentioned allow you to delete some pretty important stuff making the potential to brick that much easier. A Nandroid back-up has saved my ass more than a few times.
